Congratulations on your League one promotion!

Unless you have been living on a remote island in the middle of the ocean you will have heard about Mansfield Town magnificently securing promotion to League One for the first time in over two decades with a scintillating 2-1 home victory over Accrington Stanley.

The atmosphere inside Mansfield Town’s Field Mill ground, now known as the One Call Stadium – the oldest professional football ground in the world, was invigorating. George Maris heroically opened the scoring for the Stags’ after just two minutes when his effort from wide out deflected in off Tommy Leigh. Mansfield refused to let-up, but Accrington reminded Stags of their threat on 21 minutes.

Mansfield brought a calm to proceedings via a period of well-kept possession and the hosts began the second period as they had ended the first, in search of a second goal.

The One Call stadium roof really came off as Quinn blasted in Stags’ second.

Having managed the play composedly, Mansfield were dealt a late scare when Leigh’s deflected volley deceived Pym to get one back for Accrington on 85 minutes. The referee’s whistle soon rung out for full-time, sparking scenes of elation and euphoria.

With Nigel clough’s superior leadership Across the 2023–24 season, Mansfield cemented themselves as promotion favourites. Following a run of four wins from five matches, scoring twenty goals in the process, Clough was named EFL League Two Manager of the Month for February 2024, finishing the month top of the league.

Credit also has to be given to The Radford’s for their support, belief and investment in the club.

We look forward to what the future holds for Mansfield Town FC.
