In a meaningful step toward environmental stewardship, AB Waste Disposal Ltd has planted 16 native trees on its premises as part of its growing commitment to social and environmental values. This initiative aligns with the company’s ongoing mission to not only manage waste responsibly but to actively contribute to a cleaner, greener future for the Mansfield Woodhouse community.
The tree planting project is part of AB Waste’s wider sustainability strategy, which includes achieving a 98% landfill diversion rate through advanced recycling efforts and investing in community wellbeing. The newly planted trees will provide long-term environmental benefits such as improved air quality, enhanced biodiversity, and natural beauty in the surrounding area.
Craig Adkins, Managing Director of AB Waste Disposal Ltd, shared his enthusiasm for the initiative:
“As a business deeply rooted in Mansfield Woodhouse, we believe in giving back to our environment and our community. Planting these trees is a small but powerful step toward a more sustainable future, and we’re proud to make it part of our legacy.”
The project also engaged staff members, who took part in the planting process—strengthening team morale while reinforcing the company’s shared values. The site will be maintained and monitored to ensure the trees thrive and continue providing environmental benefits for years to come.
AB Waste’s dedication to environmental responsibility goes well beyond waste disposal. Through initiatives like tree planting, the company is showing that even in traditionally industrial sectors, positive ecological impact is not only possible—it’s essential.
